There are at least three new (?) news items concerning contaminated Chinese imports...

1.) Poisonous cough syrup imported from China has been appearing in South America. This has caused a number of deaths among the persons using the imported cough syrup.

2.) The Chinese minister in charge of exports has been tried and executed!!! Can you say scapegoat. In my opinion the Chinese government decided to hang all of the dangerous / deadly exported products that have escaped from China recently on one man. This either a coverup of mass ineptitude within their government or the possibility that an economic weapon is being prepared.

3.) A report on the NBC Nightly News last Monday following the execution of the Chinese government minister stated:ecn

In 1972 the United States inspected 55000 imports coming into this country. This has dwindled to 5000 import inspections today. That is only ONE TENTH of the import inspections previously performed.

It appears that with the possibility of contaminated Chinese products reaching right into our homes, the words "Made in China " could become a death sentence for members of your family depending on the products that you use.

Avoid the risk, look for the label "Made in USA", buy American.

Initial Posting

To everyone reading this ---
In my opinion there exists an insidious threat to the United States and all of it's citizens.

This threat has been quiet and well disguised. It has been allowed to enter our country by our own government and is brought into our homes by the commercial interests of the United States seeking to sell products for a lower price.

The danger hides among the products that we import from one of our largest international trading partners, Communist China. It is now being disguised as accidental contamination, poor quality control or lack of inspection.

What has prompted me to begin this blog is the combination of numerous bits and pieces of information that I have read or seen in various news sources over the last several years. This a small sampling, as I encounter more I'll post the information or a link to the article.

Just to begin:

• The recent turmoil concerning the discovery of Chinese produced and imported melamine-tainted -- and mislabeled -- wheat gluten, corn gluten, and rice protein concentrate that led to the deaths of numerous pets here in the United States. The contaminated Chinese products had been incorporated into pet foods leading the deaths of the animals. Gluten is a product that could have very easily slipped into the human food supply of this country.
• The discovery of toys intended for small children in the United States that were painted with paint containing the toxic heavy metal lead. Lead based paints are banned in the United States. One toy in particular that was recently involved were the Thomas the Train products. As any parent knows the little ones put everything in their mouths. This could cause the children to ingest lethal levels of the element lead, or even worse, ingestion of non-lethal amounts of the element lead that would cause brain damage destroying the rest of the children's lives.
• Numerous news reports concerning the Commerce Department's inability to adequately inspect the flood of imports we receive from Communist China.
• A few years ago one of the leaders of Communist China stated, "We are fighting a 100 year war with the United States of which 25 years have elapsed."

The first two items above are currently classified as "accidental contaminations". I've listed them here because they have caused a stir in the US media recently.

I like to pose a few of questions:

The first question:
How difficult would it be for a totalitarian government like Communist China's to suddenly change these "accidental contaminations" into a weapon?

Any import stream containing basic food ingredients that are processed into baby or children's foods could be an unfired weapon covertly aimed directly at our kids. Hidden until it suddenly strikes, when one massive "accidental contamination" cripples or kills a very large number of our children. Destroying or almost destroying an entire generation of Americans. Winning the war they believe they are fighting without firing a single gunshot.

The next question:
Are the cheap products we buy from China worth running this risk?

Personally, I always look for the magic words "Made in USA", when I buy anything.

My last question:
Why is the United States, the greatest agricultural entity in the history of the world, importing large quantities of foodstuffs from a nation that has declared itself to be our enemy and who's leaders have stated that they are at war with us?
